About us
More than just a running club

This small but friendly club was first established in the early 1980s. It continues to go from strength to strength. Within the club, there is something for everyone, whether you run for pleasure, enjoy the social interactions, race competitively or want to try cycling and swimming.

Come and see what we are all about on Wednesday nights at 6:50pm for a 7:00pm start from the Horwich Leisure Centre foyer.

Blackrod Scarecrow 10k (ish)

Race report by Gareth: Yesterday saw an amazing 29 Lostockers (out of a field of 200) take part in the 8th race in this years road/trail champs…the Blackrod Scarecrow Festival 10K. Now in its 3rd year, this super friendly, well organised event has clearly become a firm favourite with members of team green. And what’s ... Blackrod Scarecrow 10k (ish)

Ullswater Sprint Triathlon

Race report by Rachel Hancock: We headed into Ullswater for the sprint distance triathlon, the water was warm but really choppy and I couldn’t get in a rhythm with my crawl so I muddled my way round doing breaststroke but at least that meant I got to admire the scenery. The bike route was undulating ... Ullswater Sprint Triathlon

Aggies Stair Case Fell Race

Race report by Josie: The second race on our midweek Fell Championship is a local favourite, AGGIE’S STAIRCASE FELL RACE. Organised by neighbouring club Darwen Dashers, this 4mi/1148ft race is a lung and leg buster with lots of runnable terrain. With 30degree heat and humidity, runners were advised to wear hats and carry water. It ... Aggies Stair Case Fell Race

Joining Lostock AC has been one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I decided to give it a try mainly to loose weight and meet new people. It's really helped with my weight, mental health and output on life. I've been in the club over a year now. Everyone makes you feel so welcome and I love being part of the Lostock family. My running has definitely improved, especially seeing all the medals I've won. It is not just running, Lostock offers other activities too such as cycling, bootcamp and skiing. All I've had a go at which has just been brilliant. Lostock is my second family . I have entered the Machester marathon next year and an ultra. All this for someone who couldn't run . Everyone has made me feel very welcome in the club, I now consider myself to be a runner and would recommend anyone to give Lostock a try.

I joined Lostock AC to help improve my running and to motivate me to run more often. The club has surpassed my expectations. I am not from Bolton originally and did not have many friends in the area. I now feel part of an extended family. I have been encouraged and supported to run half marathons, marathons and an Ultra. I would never believe this was possible 3 years ago.

I’m proud to be a member of Lostock AC, it’s an inclusive club with lovely people, there’s plenty of sporting activities to get involved in and the social get togethers are always welcoming and fun.
