The Gin Pit

Race report by Janet: Gin Pit 5 2025 The penultimate race in the Central Lancashire Grand Prix with a very civilised start time of 10.30 am on a Sunday. Race report by Shutters: Organised by CraggRunner ie ‘Darren’ it is 1 of about 11 races he organises around Saddleworth, Littleborough, Cragg Vale, Hebden Bridge areas. Cross Country 1

Race report by Karen: Saturday afternoon was the first cross country race of the season in the South East Lancashire Cross Country League. The weather was sunny and reasonably warm, as is often the case for the October race. Louise and I were representing the Lostock women and we made our way to the start Cross Country 1

Parkrun Takeover

Lostock AC painted Haigh Woodland parkrun green for a full club takeover on Saturday 18 October. The popular 5k event saw Lostock members fill every volunteer role — from timekeeping and barcode scanning to marshalling and tail walking — ensuring the morning ran seamlessly. Parkrun Results 11 April 2026

Lostockers were on tour at Parkrun this weekend: Katie Edern ran 31:33 at Holyrood Park in Edinburgh to finish third in her age category, while Rachel Stevens produced an excellent run at Oosterplas Parkrun in the Netherlands, finishing in 26:45 to place eighth overall, second female and first in her age category.

Joining Lostock AC has been one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I decided to give it a try mainly to loose weight and meet new people. It's really helped with my weight, mental health and output on life. I've been in the club over a year now. Everyone makes you feel so welcome and I love being part of the Lostock family. My running has definitely improved, especially seeing all the medals I've won. It is not just running, Lostock offers other activities too such as cycling, bootcamp and skiing. All I've had a go at which has just been brilliant. Lostock is my second family . I have entered the Machester marathon next year and an ultra. All this for someone who couldn't run . Everyone has made me feel very welcome in the club, I now consider myself to be a runner and would recommend anyone to give Lostock a try.

I joined Lostock AC to help improve my running and to motivate me to run more often. The club has surpassed my expectations. I am not from Bolton originally and did not have many friends in the area. I now feel part of an extended family. I have been encouraged and supported to run half marathons, marathons and an Ultra. I would never believe this was possible 3 years ago.
