Race report by Janet:
Tonight Greg and myself took part in the first of the series of the Harrock Hill fell race. A lovely evening and a really lumpy and scenic 5 miles route with every surface imaginable from rutted fields, woodland tracks and muddy, rocky, footpaths, interspersed by half a dozen styles of various designs that tested both your patience and agility as you formed an orderly queue. Massive tarmac uphill to start and fast downhill tarmac finish with a little kick up at the end. A really popular midweek race organised by the Newburgh Nomads Running club and with the rather wonderful and unique prizes of a boxed of fruit and veg for all the winners. Greg ran really strongly, paced himself well and came 11th in his age category, in 49.23. I finished just in front having passed him about half way round and up a hill. I finished in 48.28 and was first VW50. We need a few more Lostockers for the next race of the series on the 23rd of June to win some more fruit and vegetables in the team prizes!
