Race report by Gill: Yesterday 5 lostock runners took part in the Trotters 5 mile trail race at Smithills this race is always a surprise as the course changes slightly each year it was a cold start near Smithills Hall this year and a fairly flat start but not for long before you start the Trotters 5 mile trail race

Lostock Athletic Club gathered to celebrate a year of remarkable performances and personal milestones, as members came together for the annual awards evening. The event highlighted the depth of talent across disciplines ranging from cross country and road running to fell racing and multi‑event competitions. Bolton 10k and 1/2 Marathon

Lostock AC delivered a strong showing at the first ever Bolton Half Marathon and 10K organised by Epic Events, with runners taking on a challenging new course that showcased some of the town’s most recognisable landmarks. Both races started in Queen’s Park, sending runners out on a route that mixed steady climbs, fast descents and Bolton 10k and 1/2 Marathon

Lostock 6 Race report

Lostock 6 2026 Race report: The Lostock 6 returned for its 43rd year on Sunday 22 February 2026. The race was another sell out and from 8.30am runners started to gather on the car park on the corner of Lockstock Lane. In a change from previous years, the weather was perfect for racing. Parkrun Championships- Heaton Park

A fantastic turnout saw the green vests of Lostock AC line up at Heaton Park, where runners tackled the undulating two-lap course. Known for its wide paths, steady drags and the sting in the tail from “that hill” before the finish, the course always tests pacing and grit.   There were an awesome 1039 runners Parkrun Championships- Heaton Park

Joining Lostock AC has been one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I decided to give it a try mainly to loose weight and meet new people. It's really helped with my weight, mental health and output on life. I've been in the club over a year now. Everyone makes you feel so welcome and I love being part of the Lostock family. My running has definitely improved, especially seeing all the medals I've won. It is not just running, Lostock offers other activities too such as cycling, bootcamp and skiing. All I've had a go at which has just been brilliant. Lostock is my second family . I have entered the Machester marathon next year and an ultra. All this for someone who couldn't run . Everyone has made me feel very welcome in the club, I now consider myself to be a runner and would recommend anyone to give Lostock a try.

I joined Lostock AC to help improve my running and to motivate me to run more often. The club has surpassed my expectations. I am not from Bolton originally and did not have many friends in the area. I now feel part of an extended family. I have been encouraged and supported to run half marathons, marathons and an Ultra. I would never believe this was possible 3 years ago.
