Race report by Emma:
Today, Terri, Dan and I attended the 41st Birchwood 10K, hosted by Spectrum Striders Running Club.
A brilliant morning of running! 👏
The race starts near Birchwood Shopping Centre at 10am and follows a fast, mostly flat road and tarmac course, mixing urban business park paths with rural village lanes. The biggest challenge comes between 7km and 9km, with three motorway bridges to tackle!
This was my third time completing the course, Dan has done it a few times too, and it was Terri’s first time.
Dan passed Terri and me early on, while Terri and I had decided to run the race together. Dan was first back in an in 49:23, followed by me in 54:57 and Terri in 54:58.
I was absolutely delighted to achieve both a 10K PB and a course PB! 🎉🏃♀️
There were no medals at the finish, but we did get a lovely, useful fluffy towel with the Spectrum Striders logo on instead!
Fantastic times from us all, especially on such a hot day! 🥵☀️
