Race report by Josie: On Sunday, Tony & I headed over to Marsden for our first race of the year. Trigger is a point to point race where runners navigate their way from Marsden over Black Hill, Bleaklow and Kinder to Edale visiting three trigs points on route. Trails and Ales

Lostock AC members saw out 2025 and welcomed in 2026 in characteristically energetic fashion, tackling challenging fell races, Parkruns and milestone celebrations across the country. The year ended on a high note at the popular Trails and Ales fell race on 31 December 2025, organised by Trailblazing Events. The seven-mile course around Rivington is renowned Trails and Ales

50th Parkrun Celebrations

Celebrations continued on 3 January at Clarence parkrun, where Janet, Bev, Brian and Greg all completed their 50th Parkruns, with the occasion made even more special as it coincided with Bev’s birthday. Andy K again led Lostock home in 23:14, finishing second in his age category. Greg (24:45) and Brian (25:48) both secured second places 50th Parkrun Celebrations

Parkrun New Years Day

New Year’s Day saw Lostock members swap the fells for parks as they began 2026 in running shoes. At Haigh Woodland Parkrun, Antony Sutton led the club home in 26:48, followed by Matt W (29:44), Katie (30:13), Carol (30:40) and Ian B (31:22). Southport 1/2 Marathon

Race report by Paul: Southport Half Race Report, so sorry its late had one of those days. On a very cold Sunday morning it was off to southport to support Kev on his running comeback. Kev has been injured for just over 18 months with a damaged ACL and metatarsal but has a London Marathon Southport 1/2 Marathon

Haggis Run

Lostockers took to the fells for the final social run of 2025. It was a tough run taking in the summits of the Pike, 2 Lads and Winter Hill. Lostockers are now preparing for 2026, planning the new Couch to 5k programme and preparing for the 43rd Lostocker 6 on 22 February 2026.

Christmas Day Parkrun

While many were tucking into mince pies or assembling toys, a determined group of runners chose a more energetic start to Christmas Day by taking part in parkruns across the country – proving that festive spirit and fast feet go hand in hand. Mince Pie Run

Lostock AC held its annual Mince Pie Run on Sunday 21st December. Taking place on the Sunday before Christmas this is a social run around Rivington, reaching the summit of the Pike and 2 Lads. Fancy dress is encouraged and some members enjoy a Christmas lunch afterwards 🧑‍🎄

Media City Christmas 5k and 10k

Lostock AC runners got into the festive spirit at the RunThrough Media City Christmas 5K & 10K, swapping mince pies for miles and bringing plenty of seasonal cheer to the fast, flat waterside course. It was an interesting mix of people at the start line with some runners clearly aiming for a PB and others Media City Christmas 5k and 10k

Joining Lostock AC has been one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I decided to give it a try mainly to loose weight and meet new people. It's really helped with my weight, mental health and output on life. I've been in the club over a year now. Everyone makes you feel so welcome and I love being part of the Lostock family. My running has definitely improved, especially seeing all the medals I've won. It is not just running, Lostock offers other activities too such as cycling, bootcamp and skiing. All I've had a go at which has just been brilliant. Lostock is my second family . I have entered the Machester marathon next year and an ultra. All this for someone who couldn't run . Everyone has made me feel very welcome in the club, I now consider myself to be a runner and would recommend anyone to give Lostock a try.

I joined Lostock AC to help improve my running and to motivate me to run more often. The club has surpassed my expectations. I am not from Bolton originally and did not have many friends in the area. I now feel part of an extended family. I have been encouraged and supported to run half marathons, marathons and an Ultra. I would never believe this was possible 3 years ago.
