Race report by Chris:
This weekend was the Blackpool festival of running. On Saturday there was a 2k, 5k &10k races. Today was the Marathon and half Marathon.
It was an early start setting off with my support crew of Gillian Baker and Luke at around 7am.
Both races started just north of north pier, marathon runners headed of south, while the 883 of us doing the half headed north. Soon after we turned around back towards the Tower, then onto the Big One at the pleasure beach and into a head wind. At around 7k we reached Stargate before turning around again!. Now it was the long drag all the way up to Bispham, with the wind on our backs, eventually turning around again (getting dizzy now!) to the finish, whilst waving in the distance to a house a few hundred meters away where my Grandparents lived! I’ve not been to the part of Blackpool for a long time and it was nice to reminise. Being slightly distracted, I lost track of my of pace at this point, having a good look around at places I used to go as a child. With a few km to go, I remembered I was in race and picked the pace up again finishing in 1h 48m my 2nd fastest half.

Race report by Janet: What an experience. Boston has been amazing. I get it now. This city loves the marathon and embraces all who run it. After arriving last Thursday we spent 4 days exploring the city, visiting Harvard and eating our way from one place to the next. Lobster rolls, stuffed clams, Boston cream ... Boston Marathon
