We had a fabulous time at the Lostock AC Christmas Party on Friday. We had a wonderful 3 course at Harvester with a quiz and disco. The quiz brought out members competitive side! SELOC – Street Orienteering in Lostock and Heaton

Lostock AC members took to the streets of Lostock and Heaton to take part in the South East Lancashire Orienteering street league. Members could select 60 minutes or 75 minutes to follow a map and answer the clues. Members ran between 4 to 6 miles trying to find the controls. Benidorm 10k

Despite going on holiday, Lostock AC members Rachel and Ste, still found time to race. They completed the Benidorm 10k. The race starts at 5pm in the evening and runners enjoy the beautiful views of Benidorm, starting with running through the town and then along the costal path. The final push to the finish was Benidorm 10k

Week Fell Round Up

WEEKEND FELL ROUND UP by Josie On Saturday, the penultimate race on our Fell Calendar was none other than Tour of Pendle. For a hill that covers a relatively small area, it manages to pack in a distance of 16.8 miles and 4833ft of climb making it a tough category A-Long race. Starting at the Week Fell Round Up

Cumbrian Cracker

Paul Lacey completed the Cumbrian Cracker, this is a 60 mile bike ride which starts and finishes in Grasmere village. The is a tough race and climbs Red Bank within the first mile, over the course cyclists cover an elevation gain of a dizzying 4,450ft. The route continues round the back of Coniston Water to Cumbrian Cracker

The Sunnywood Project – Stranger Trails week 4

Rachel Hancock and Janet Rhodes completed the 4th week of the Sunnywood Project’s Stranger trails series. This week’s run started at Helmshore and runners discovered the story of the Mystery of the Man in the Barn. Conway Half Marathon

Lockstock AC member Johanna McManus travelled to Conway to take part in the annual half marathon. This is a gruelling 13.1 mile with an epic elevation gain of 850ft. It was a wet and miserable day when runners set off from Conway, across the river towards the Great Orme. Runners loop the Great Orme enjoying Conway Half Marathon

Haigh Parkrun Takeover

Lostock AC headed to Haigh Woodland Park to stage a Parkrun takeover. Lostockers marshalled, scanned bar codes, were time keepers and tail walkers. Due to a tree being down on route A, runners were required to complete the more challenging route B. This route starts in front of Haigh Hall and is a steady down Haigh Parkrun Takeover

Lostock 6

The Lostock 6 is back in February 2024. The race will take place on Sunday 25 February 2024, the race will start at 10am. Race headquarters will be Barnstomers, Lostock Lane, Lostock, Bolton BL6 4BL. Joining Lostock AC has been one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I decided to give it a try mainly to loose weight and meet new people. It's really helped with my weight, mental health and output on life. I've been in the club over a year now. Everyone makes you feel so welcome and I love being part of the Lostock family. My running has definitely improved, especially seeing all the medals I've won. It is not just running, Lostock offers other activities too such as cycling, bootcamp and skiing. All I've had a go at which has just been brilliant. Lostock is my second family . I have entered the Machester marathon next year and an ultra. All this for someone who couldn't run . Everyone has made me feel very welcome in the club, I now consider myself to be a runner and would recommend anyone to give Lostock a try.

I joined Lostock AC to help improve my running and to motivate me to run more often. The club has surpassed my expectations. I am not from Bolton originally and did not have many friends in the area. I now feel part of an extended family. I have been encouraged and supported to run half marathons, marathons and an Ultra. I would never believe this was possible 3 years ago.
