Paul Lacey completed the Cumbrian Cracker, this is a 60 mile bike ride which starts and finishes in Grasmere village. The is a tough race and climbs Red Bank within the first mile, over the course cyclists cover an elevation gain of a dizzying 4,450ft. The route continues round the back of Coniston Water to reach the food stop at Cartmel scout hut next to the Racecourse. It then weaves through some beautiful country lanes, covering sights including Grizedale Forest, Hawkshead and Ambleside. The route is undulating and trying challenge for experienced cyclists.
The autumnal weather had left the roads wet and covered in leaves. Lacey had an amazing ride finishing in 4:26:21.
Lostockers were on tour at Parkrun this weekend: Katie Edern ran 31:33 at Holyrood Park in Edinburgh to finish third in her age category, while Rachel Stevens produced an excellent run at Oosterplas Parkrun in the Netherlands, finishing in 26:45 to place eighth overall, second female and first in her age category.
On the international stage, Paul Edwards represented the club at the Paris Marathon, completing the iconic race in 3:09:52.
