Lostock AC members took to the streets of Lostock and Heaton to take part in the South East Lancashire Orienteering street league.
Members could select 60 minutes or 75 minutes to follow a map and answer the clues. Members ran between 4 to 6 miles trying to find the controls.
Bev, Janet, Rachel H and Rachel S started well but got confused when finding one of the clues. They lost valuable time trying to work out where they had gone wrong!
Ian B had an impressive run with his family. Karen ran with her friend Katie. Mary had a good run covering 4 miles.
Other members took the event more seriously. Josie and Matt covered an impressed 6.4 miles, Greg and Mark covered 5.5 miles as did Andy and Ian J.
Checkers competed in the Strange Struggle Fell Race, organised by Fat Boys Running club. This is a fun and friendly 9.9km fell race on a beautiful route, in Hathersage, west of Sheffield. Fell Captain Josie had a busy weekend of racing. On Saturday she completed the Three Shires Fell Race. This is a tough race, starting in Ambleside, covering 20k (12.4 miles) and 4000ft elevation gain. Greenhalgh completed the gruelling race in 3:44:18.
