Chair’s Fell Race

Wednesday night saw the annual Chair’s Fell Race. This is a race for club members that commences at Rivington Hall Barn and traverses the fells of Rivington. The race covers 5 miles and an elevation gain of over 1,000ft. The race requires runners to run to the top of the Pike and winter Hill. The Chair’s Fell Race

Media City UK – August

Markus and Rachel Stevens competed in the August edition of the Media City 5k series. This is a monthly race around the iconic media city. Despite the last-minute decision to attend both had a fantastic race. Rachel achieved a 5k Personal best finishing in 25:02 and securing 2nd in her age category. Grisedale Horseshoe

Josie Greenhalgh took part in the Grisedale Horseshoe in Ullswater. This race covers almost 10 miles and an elevation gain in excess of 5,000 ft. The race includes insane climbs including the highest point in the Lake District Helvellyn. This is a self-guided race with participant navigating their own route around the course. Pennington Flash 5k trail race

Race report by Gareth: Yesterday saw another fantastic turnout of 14 Lostockers out of a super strong & competitive field of 238 take on the next race in the road/trail champs.. the Pennington Flash 5 mile trail race. Decathlon and Tri Rivi 5k

Jo and Rachel took part in the Decathlon and Tri Rivington 5k run on Sunday morning. The 5k was run was a collaboration aiming at encouraging more people to run. The run started on Royton Road and participants completed a loop taking in the trails and track of Rivington. This was not a timed race Decathlon and Tri Rivi 5k

Joining Lostock AC has been one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I decided to give it a try mainly to loose weight and meet new people. It's really helped with my weight, mental health and output on life. I've been in the club over a year now. Everyone makes you feel so welcome and I love being part of the Lostock family. My running has definitely improved, especially seeing all the medals I've won. It is not just running, Lostock offers other activities too such as cycling, bootcamp and skiing. All I've had a go at which has just been brilliant. Lostock is my second family . I have entered the Machester marathon next year and an ultra. All this for someone who couldn't run . Everyone has made me feel very welcome in the club, I now consider myself to be a runner and would recommend anyone to give Lostock a try.

I joined Lostock AC to help improve my running and to motivate me to run more often. The club has surpassed my expectations. I am not from Bolton originally and did not have many friends in the area. I now feel part of an extended family. I have been encouraged and supported to run half marathons, marathons and an Ultra. I would never believe this was possible 3 years ago.
