Race report by Rachel H:
The event is held at the leisure centre of a caravan park so parking wasn’t an issue, I was in the 8:35 wave which went off slightly behind schedule but I enjoyed the none rushed atmosphere, helped to settle race day nerves. Swim was great although I did get held up a bit behind other swimmers, after telling everyone at poolside how to operate the triathlon settings on their watches, what did I do but press the wrong button on mine 🤦♀️, cost me time on the bike messing with my watch but these things happen. The bike course was relatively flat around country lanes, had to avoid the suicidal Canadian geese in the village near the end, the run was an out and back on trail paths around the caravan site, there was a confusing split section which it looks like the marshal sent me down twice in error 🙄 but it’s all good for my training so extra is fine 🤣 had a great time and it was a good practice run for my triathlon planning skills 😃 came 15th female & 2nd in my age category so really pleased with that. West lancs triathlon next month for me and Mary White, places selling out fast if anyone wants to join us 🏊🏼🚴🏼🏃♀️

Race report by Jo: Our 6th Parkrun Championships fixture took us to our very own Haigh Hall, where 28 Lostockers raced around thick mud that felt more like January than June. Haigh being Haigh, the route gave us its usual mix of hills, more hills, and that one section where you’re convinced the ground is ... Parkrun Championship Haigh Hall
Race report by Josie: On Saturday, I travelled to the beautiful village of Buttermere in the Western Lake District to run The Buttermere Sailbeck Fell Race. A tough 15km (9.3mi)/ 1,315m (4314ft) mountain horseshoe over two distinct ridgelines. Although a relatively short fell race (for me), a lot of elevation is packed into the distance ...
