Congratulations to Tom!

Congratulations to Lostock AC member Tom who won the Lakeland Challenge trophy in 2022. Tom and another runner won the trophy. They have shared the trophy over the year.

Heaton Park 5k and 10k

Not happy with just running Cross Country on Saturday Andy headed back to Heaton Park on Sunda with Gareth and Jo to complete the Heaton Park races series. This was the final race of 2023 in the club road championship. It was a cold and wet day and many runners had embraced the Christmas spirit Heaton Park 5k and 10k

Cross Country

Saturday saw the second instalment of cross country series. They had previously been cancelled due to bad weather but storm Elin and Ferguson did not deter 8 Lostockers who headed to Heaton Park. The females run first.  Louise, Karen and Gill braved the 2 1/2 laps around the muddy wet park. The males were next Cross Country

Longridge 7 Miles Race

On Sunday 3 Lostockers travelled to Ribble Valley to tcomplete the Longridge 7 mile race. This was a tough race with an elevation gain of 810ft. Tony was the first to compete the course in 1:02:22, followed by Mike in 1:04:00. Sheila had an outstanding race finishing in 1:13:05,  winning her age category. Sheila was Longridge 7 Miles Race

Christmas Pudding 10k

Lostock members started the festive season by getting involved in Christmas races. Tony and Sheila headed to Langdale in the Lakes to take part in the Christmas Pudding 10k. This was a wet, muddy and hilly race with an elevation gain of 510ft.  As the name suggests, finishers were presented with a Christmas pudding. Tony Christmas Pudding 10k

Lostock AC Christmas Party

We had a fabulous time at the Lostock AC Christmas Party on Friday. We had a wonderful 3 course at Harvester with a quiz and disco. The quiz brought out members competitive side! SELOC – Street Orienteering in Lostock and Heaton

Lostock AC members took to the streets of Lostock and Heaton to take part in the South East Lancashire Orienteering street league. Members could select 60 minutes or 75 minutes to follow a map and answer the clues. Members ran between 4 to 6 miles trying to find the controls. Benidorm 10k

Despite going on holiday, Lostock AC members Rachel and Ste, still found time to race. They completed the Benidorm 10k. The race starts at 5pm in the evening and runners enjoy the beautiful views of Benidorm, starting with running through the town and then along the costal path. The final push to the finish was Benidorm 10k

Fell Captain Josie had a busy weekend of racing. On Saturday she completed the Three Shires Fell Race. Lostock AC members headed to Bury to compete in the Bury 10k for the latest instalment of the Road Runners Championship. 7 Lostockers lined up with over 1,000 runners in the rain to complete the 10k route. Joining Lostock AC has been one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I decided to give it a try mainly to loose weight and meet new people. It's really helped with my weight, mental health and output on life. I've been in the club over a year now. Everyone makes you feel so welcome and I love being part of the Lostock family. My running has definitely improved, especially seeing all the medals I've won. It is not just running, Lostock offers other activities too such as cycling, bootcamp and skiing. All I've had a go at which has just been brilliant. Lostock is my second family . I have entered the Machester marathon next year and an ultra. All this for someone who couldn't run . Everyone has made me feel very welcome in the club, I now consider myself to be a runner and would recommend anyone to give Lostock a try.

I joined Lostock AC to help improve my running and to motivate me to run more often. The club has surpassed my expectations. I am not from Bolton originally and did not have many friends in the area. I now feel part of an extended family. I have been encouraged and supported to run half marathons, marathons and an Ultra. I would never believe this was possible 3 years ago.
