On Sunday, the Manchester half Marathon and 10k was held in Manchester City Centre. This saw 25,000 runners head to Manchester to take part in the event. David G and Jenni completed the half marathon. The half starts on Portland Street, travelling along the A56 towards Old Trafford, participants then head back towards the city centre and change from red to blue, continue along the Mancunian Way towards the Etihad. Runners, then turn around running back to Manchester and the iconic finish line on Deansgate. David was the first across the finish line in 1:49:32. Jenni, who was running to raise money for Cancer Research finished in 2:11:46.
Jo completed the 10k, this was her first race since sustaining an injury and she performed amazing to finish in 49:52.
Checkers competed in the Strange Struggle Fell Race, organised by Fat Boys Running club. This is a fun and friendly 9.9km fell race on a beautiful route, in Hathersage, west of Sheffield. This is a tough race, starting in Ambleside, covering 20k (12.4 miles) and 4000ft elevation gain. Greenhalgh completed the gruelling race in 3:44:18.
