Bolton Community 10k

Race report by Gareth: A fantastic turnout of 15 Lostockers took part in the latest instalment of this year’s road/trail champs, the Bolton Wanderers Community 10K. This number is made even more impressive when you take the Paris marathon contingent into account along with the Rivington 10 miler plus plenty members who normally race on Bolton Community 10k

Berlin Half Marathon

Race report by Gaz: Berlin did not disappoint! The day started with a sunny but cool 2°C, the wind chill at the start line was slicing through like a bratwurst knife. I clung to my emergency charity shop hoodie (acquired the day before for €5—bless you, Berlin thrift gods) until the very last second. It Berlin Half Marathon

Liverpool 10 mile race

Race report by Jo: Todays Liverpool 10m: The race kicked off at the iconic Liver Building. As the starting gun fired, the runners surged forward, heading along the waterfront for the first mile. The route took us past the historic Albert Docks. A sharp left onto Parliament Street with a slight climb to Sefton Park. Liverpool 10 mile race

Canicross Nutters 5.5k

Race report by Jon. Canicross Nutters 5.5k  over at Burnley this morning. Runners were set off in time trial format at 30 second intervals and given that this was my first run since the heart attack, I asked to be started from the back. Unfortunately, it was a 1 dog race, so I raced Huxley Canicross Nutters 5.5k

Wilmslow 1/2 Marathon

Race report by Paul: Wilmslow half for me this morning, half marathon no 3 for this year. 1.55 1762/3499 Well organised and some lovely country roads! It all started abit quick with a massive start of 10k and half runners combined together, unfortunately for me that would only really mean one thing I would set Wilmslow 1/2 Marathon

Ian Hesketh Memorial Duathlon Race

Race report by Steve: Sunday morning didn’t have the familiar Lancashire chill we’re used but at last it was mild! The atmosphere around the school car park was comfortably warm from the off. The Ian Hesketh Memorial Duathlon — a low-key, friendly affair run by Burnden Roadrunners for the second time — is exactly the ... Ian Hesketh Memorial Duathlon Race

Edinburgh 1/2 marathon

Race report by Jo: When I signed up for this race back in September, I definitely wasn’t expecting to be running in tropical heat in Edinburgh. The day kicked off early with a 5:45am park‑and‑ride bus into the city. The race started at 8am on Potterrow outside the University of Edinburgh’s McEwan Hall. After the ... Edinburgh 1/2 marathon

Joining Lostock AC has been one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I decided to give it a try mainly to loose weight and meet new people. It's really helped with my weight, mental health and output on life. I've been in the club over a year now. Everyone makes you feel so welcome and I love being part of the Lostock family. My running has definitely improved, especially seeing all the medals I've won. It is not just running, Lostock offers other activities too such as cycling, bootcamp and skiing. All I've had a go at which has just been brilliant. Lostock is my second family . I have entered the Machester marathon next year and an ultra. All this for someone who couldn't run . Everyone has made me feel very welcome in the club, I now consider myself to be a runner and would recommend anyone to give Lostock a try.

I joined Lostock AC to help improve my running and to motivate me to run more often. The club has surpassed my expectations. I am not from Bolton originally and did not have many friends in the area. I now feel part of an extended family. I have been encouraged and supported to run half marathons, marathons and an Ultra. I would never believe this was possible 3 years ago.
