Race report by Checkers:
Birthday weekend day 2
Edenfield near Ramsbottom . A very long time since I have last done back to back races 10:30 am start and 40 mins travel away. Porridge for breakfast and a little cooler. Did a little warm up. My legs already felt loose and no aches. This race is less dramatic than Pen Y Ghent. More of a roller coaster undulating romp across the Lancashire moors. With some good muddy bogs in-between. Had a drink of water at the top of the first climb. My pace increased I began to catch other runners contouring round passing Waughs Well then up to Whittle Pike across the cotton tailed moors.. Again the run down is brilliant nice soft and grassy great for Rolling down. If felt that way. Then as you get half way down. Don’t look up. !!! This is where you can see where you have to go next. It looks like a monster climb. Got to the climb I still had loads left in my legs. Then promptly fell in a bog grrr. Got stuck into the climb, spider climbing most of the way up. Now for the run back I was feeling good just powered down the concrete lane even speeded up going round the cricket field into the finish
