Finally some free time without being ill or serious aches and pains. A last minute decision to do this race.
Ras Rhobell Fawr nr Dolgellau.
I thought I would give it a go as it’s a straight up down an obscure mountain in mid Wales north. Starting at the village hall in the beautiful village of Llanfachreth. Uphill straight from the start through beautiful woodland on nice paths, then a stoney path ,before turning straight up following a wall nearly all the way to the top. It was interesting listening to other runners talking about taking different lines going up and down and selecting the best route. Anyway I knew I would safe on this route?? Or so I thought? Just stick to the wall. Well I followed a runner going up a crag near me going a bit away from the wall.🤔 This runner turned off to the left away from the wall. (He retired)? Thankfully I could see the wall and the faster runners coming back. Now I was definitely at the back and losing the will to live, as the climb seemed to go on forever. Spurred on by the runners coming down, boosted me as I was really beginning to tire. I also had a gel. This helped me better going down. Sadly the cloud level was just hovering over the top so no views🙁 However I did enjoy the looong run down. Only 56 runners in this race. Having not done much running cycling or swimming in the last 2 months due to health issues and being busy at work and also Grandpa duties 😃I knew it was going to be hard work as my body had slowed right down. It still felt good to be out again😃

Lostockers were on tour at Parkrun this weekend: Katie Edern ran 31:33 at Holyrood Park in Edinburgh to finish third in her age category, while Rachel Stevens produced an excellent run at Oosterplas Parkrun in the Netherlands, finishing in 26:45 to place eighth overall, second female and first in her age category.
On the international stage, Paul Edwards represented the club at the Paris Marathon, completing the iconic race in 3:09:52.
