Mark C and Rob completed the Wardle Skyline Fell Race. The race takes place north of Rochdale and covers 7 miles. The run out is an undulating climb going over three tops. The run back is a superb easy gradient going downhill forever. However there is a sting in the tail. It wouldn’t be a true Fell race if you didn’t have an extra bit of climbing to do. Both had a fantastic race with Rob finishing in 57:17 and Checkers finishing in 1:34:02.
Lostock AC members saw out 2025 and welcomed in 2026 in characteristically energetic fashion, tackling challenging fell races, Parkruns and milestone celebrations across the country. Celebrations continued on 3 January at Clarence parkrun, where Janet, Bev, Brian and Greg all completed their 50th Parkruns, with the occasion made even more special as it coincided with Bev’s birthday. New Year’s Day saw Lostock members swap the fells for parks as they began 2026 in running shoes. At Haigh Woodland Parkrun, Antony Sutton led the club home in 26:48, followed by Matt W (29:44), Katie (30:13), Carol (30:40) and Ian B (31:22).
