🏃‍♂️ Lytham St Anne’s Remembrance Day 10k 10K – RACE REPORT by Rachel W

What a fantastic morning at the Lytham St Anne’s Remembrance 10K! ❤️

We were incredibly lucky with the weather today, with lovely conditions making for a brilliant morning of running.

🏖️ THE ROUTE

A flat, fast, chip-timed 10K road race, taking in the beautiful, wide-open coastal views along the scenic Lytham St Annes promenade. The course is ideal for anyone chasing a PB, with very little elevation change and a lovely stretch of coastline to enjoy. The only real challenge can be the coastal winds, which can certainly affect your pace – thankfully, they were kind to us today!

And the proof was in the results… EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US GOT A PB! 🏆🔥

SPECIAL MENTIONS

⚡ Dougie – Fast Feet! Absolutely flying round the course. Someone had clearly put a rocket up him!

🗺️ George – The Directions Man! Keeping us on track and pointing us in the right direction… although his post-race directions to the Station Pub (NOT the Railway!) may need a little work! 😂

🎉 Emma – First Timer! A massive well done on taking on this run for the first time. What a brilliant effort and a PB to kick things off!

🙌 Jason – The Support Crew! A special mention for supporting Rachel and making sure no head fell off along the way! 😂 Every good team needs someone looking after the important things!

A fantastic route, beautiful weather, brilliant team spirit and some amazing running from everyone.

Today was also about taking a moment to remember those who gave so much for us. ❤️

Huge congratulations to everyone who took part. Every runner, every PB and plenty of smiles along the way.

Joining Lostock AC has been one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I decided to give it a try mainly to loose weight and meet new people. It's really helped with my weight, mental health and output on life. I've been in the club over a year now. Everyone makes you feel so welcome and I love being part of the Lostock family. My running has definitely improved, especially seeing all the medals I've won. It is not just running, Lostock offers other activities too such as cycling, bootcamp and skiing. All I've had a go at which has just been brilliant. Lostock is my second family . I have entered the Machester marathon next year and an ultra. All this for someone who couldn't run . Everyone has made me feel very welcome in the club, I now consider myself to be a runner and would recommend anyone to give Lostock a try.

I joined Lostock AC to help improve my running and to motivate me to run more often. The club has surpassed my expectations. I am not from Bolton originally and did not have many friends in the area. I now feel part of an extended family. I have been encouraged and supported to run half marathons, marathons and an Ultra. I would never believe this was possible 3 years ago.

I’m proud to be a member of Lostock AC, it’s an inclusive club with lovely people, there’s plenty of sporting activities to get involved in and the social get togethers are always welcoming and fun.
