Race report by Checkers:
Always had this race on my calendar. Having previously done the tour of Bradwell I remembered what the terrain was like. Even though it was damp today I still chose trail shoes. As the grass trods are like a carpet and fantastic to run on. I also had my tour of Bradwell map which also covered the whole race route.. Although I didn’t need to carry it as the race route was well marshalled. After a slow start up the lane, once on the track up the hill I began to work my way passing several runners ahead of me. So far my choice of shoe was proving a good choice. Still picking off runners. Over the undulating moors on the lovely carpet of grass. Just the final climb over Eldon Hill. The terrain changed more rougher, still ok going up. Going down was a bit tricky, so had to take it carefully. I was soon passed by the lady who I had not long passed on the way up. Thankfully the rough section was short. I then had a very enjoyable fast run down to the finish. Just running out of race to repass the lady who passed me.
Checkers finished in 1:12:25.
