Race report by Sheila:
Yesterday I ran one of the Cartmel Lakeland Trail Races with my daughter Sarah.
It was supposed to be the 18k Challenge at 1pm but was changed to the amended 10k route just before the start due to the high winds and intermittent very heavy rain of Storm Amy.
It was a nice fairly gentle undulating route west and north of Cartmel, mainly on paths over farmland but with a few short tarmac stretches and streams to ford.
It was very wet, very muddy and very slippery but good fun tho’ – and with a sticky toffee pudding as a reward at the finish!
