Race report by Jon.
Canicross Nutters 5.5k over at Burnley this morning. Runners were set off in time trial format at 30 second intervals and given that this was my first run since the heart attack, I asked to be started from the back.
Unfortunately, it was a 1 dog race, so I raced Huxley and Hope had to stay in the car.
My plan was to be sensible and jog it round the first 4km, then push from there to the finish if I felt OK. The route was not well marked, so the slow 4km sort of enforced itself by me having to keep trying to figure out where I was going! 😂
Towards the end, I asked a marshal how far to go and he said 2 minutes. I felt good, so I blasted it to the finish.
So, I got round, I didn’t come last, I didn’t die and I loved every minute. It’s great to be back running.
