Conway Half Marathon

Lockstock AC member Johanna McManus travelled to Conway to take part in the annual half marathon. This is a gruelling 13.1 mile with an epic elevation gain of 850ft. Haigh Parkrun Takeover

Lostock AC headed to Haigh Woodland Park to stage a Parkrun takeover. Lostockers marshalled, scanned bar codes, were time keepers and tail walkers. Due to a tree being down on route A, runners were required to complete the more challenging route B. This route starts in front of Haigh Hall and is a steady down Haigh Parkrun Takeover

Lostock 6

The Lostock 6 is back in February 2024. The race will take place on Sunday 25 February 2024, the race will start at 10am. Race headquarters will be Barnstomers, Lostock Lane, Lostock, Bolton BL6 4BL. Warrington Way Ultra Marathon

Lostock AC member Hazel Hatfield completed an epic challenge on Saturday 11 November 2023 by completing the Warrington Way. The race, organised by Lymm Runners, is a 40-mile trail ultramarathon that starts and finishes in the lovely Cheshire village of Lymm, Warrington. Runners follow a route which is mostly on tracks, footpaths, field crossings and Warrington Way Ultra Marathon

The Sunnywood Stranger Trails Part 3

Rachel Hancock and Janet Rhodes took part in the third of the Sunnywood Project Stranger trails series. As part of the trail run, runners learned about the Gristlehurst Boggart. Windmill Remembrance Day 10k

Lostock AC member Jo, who despite the awful weather on Sunday, completed the Windmill Remembrance Day 10k in Lytham St Anne’s. This is a fast and flat course on the coastal front of Lytham, starting on Lytham Green next to the Windmill itself. Grisedale Horseshoe Fell Race

Mark Shuttleworth and Josie Greenhalgh travelled to the Lake District to compete in the Grisedale Horsesh0e Fell Race. This race is organised by Achille Ratti Climbing Club of which some Lostockers are also members. The race starts from Glenridding Village Hall in the Lake District and takes in the peaks of Catstye Cam, Helvellyn, St Grisedale Horseshoe Fell Race

Blackleach 5 Miles Trail Race

6 Lostock AC members completed the Blackleach 5 miles Trail Race. The race is organised by Quays Running club and involving 2 laps around Blackleach Country Park with beautiful views of the lake. Tony Maxwell was the first to finish in an epic 40:33, winning his age category. Janet Rhodes followed in 41:12, Rachel Hancock Blackleach 5 Miles Trail Race

Wigan 10k

Six Lostockers joined 1624 runners at the Wigan 10K. The race started from Mesnes Park in the centre of Wigan. Lostockers spent too long standing around chatting and as a result, got stuck in the middle of the pen with the 70-75 minute pacers, the front runners made it a challenge to see how many Wigan 10k

Rachel Hancock Completes 250 Parkruns

Congratulations to Rachel Hancock who celebrated her 250th Parkrun, completing the 5k course at Bolton.

Joining Lostock AC has been one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I decided to give it a try mainly to loose weight and meet new people. It's really helped with my weight, mental health and output on life. I've been in the club over a year now. Everyone makes you feel so welcome and I love being part of the Lostock family. My running has definitely improved, especially seeing all the medals I've won. It is not just running, Lostock offers other activities too such as cycling, bootcamp and skiing. All I've had a go at which has just been brilliant. Lostock is my second family . I have entered the Machester marathon next year and an ultra. All this for someone who couldn't run . Everyone has made me feel very welcome in the club, I now consider myself to be a runner and would recommend anyone to give Lostock a try.

I joined Lostock AC to help improve my running and to motivate me to run more often. The club has surpassed my expectations. I am not from Bolton originally and did not have many friends in the area. I now feel part of an extended family. I have been encouraged and supported to run half marathons, marathons and an Ultra. I would never believe this was possible 3 years ago.
