On Saturday 9 Lostock AC members competed in the Ian Hesketh memorial Duathlon. The duathlon starts at Rivington Primary School and participants complete a 5k run, 22k cycle followed by a 5k run. The 5k run takes place around the tracks of the Lower Barn, passing Lever Castle and back to the Primary School. The cycle consisted of 3 laps, with competitors cycling along Horrobin Lane, New Road, Dryfield Lane, Rivington Lane and back towards the school. After a quick transition, participants completed the same 5k route.
Andy was the first Lostocker to cross the finish line in an impressive 1:38:04. Rachel H was the next home in an epic 1:42:42, securing third female and first in her age category. Next was Josie in 1:43:41 (2nd in age category), followed byMel 1:44:14 and Greg 1:56:05
Janet and Alan complete the duathlon as a relay with Rhodes running and Wilson cycling. They both had an epic race finishing first in the relay in 1:38:11.
