Lostock AC were feeling festive this weekend, taking part in a Santa Dash arranged by Madbull Events.
This is a tough 4 mile run with an elevation gain of 700ft. 12 Lostockers joined 111 festive runners in fancy dress at the start line outside Curlys Restaurant. Runners then headed up through wilders wood, continuing up to 2 Lads. It was then all down a slippery hill to pikes cottage and back to Curlys.
Greg Kilshaw was the first member to cross the finish line. Despite being dressed as a Christmas Tree he finished the race in 38:36.
Next home was Sally McCoy in 40:20, Rachel Hancock in 40:40, followed by Anthony Maxwell in 43:58. Heather Soden, Janet Rhodes & Beverly Atherton-McKenna who all ran together, finished in 45:27, Ian Burns in 46:39, Ste Hancock in 48:30 and Jon Tunson in 54:02. Sheila Garewal and Rachel Stevens finished together in 55.36.
Most members entered into the spirit of the fancy dress and loved their medals that were also Christmas tree decorations.

Race report by Josie: On Saturday, I travelled to the beautiful village of Buttermere in the Western Lake District to run The Buttermere Sailbeck Fell Race. A tough 15km (9.3mi)/ 1,315m (4314ft) mountain horseshoe over two distinct ridgelines. Although a relatively short fell race (for me), a lot of elevation is packed into the distance ...
