My running journey started in January 2023 when I was bored at the gym, needing a new direction. I downloaded a c25k app to try something new and found that I really enjoyed running! I booked my first ever road race that March, and entered the Wigan 5k. Well and truly getting the running bug after the race, I then began a couch to 10k app, and entered Heaton Park 10k two months later and various other 10k races/ park runs.
In May 2024 I ran the Great Manchester half marathon, Ribble Run Fest half Marathon and numerous 10k events.
In April 2025 I ran my first Marathon at Manchester. This was the year I also pushed outside of my comfort zone of road running and tried some trail and fell races, which I realised i much prefer!
I joined Lostock AC in August 2025. What really made this club stand out to me was the variety of sports and choices of running, from trail, fell and road to track sessions. Even strength and conditioning and yoga! Something for everyone and any ability.
I’m proud to be a member of such a warm and welcoming club.
I’m looking forward to completing my Leadership in Running Fitness qualification in 2026 and hope to get more involved in trail and fell running.
