Race report by Josie:
12.5mi/5000ft ascent.
It’s a beast of a race from start to finish! Starting with a 2mile climb onto the tops followed by a run across Martcrag Moor, the home of the fellrunner swallowing bogs! A spicy traverse under Esk Pike. A rocky ascent of Bowfell before a navigational nightmare of Crinkle Crags. Then there’s the Bad Step, the fall, commando roll & cramp to the foot of PikeOBlisco & the zombie march to its summit!😩 It’s all downhill from here to the finish but when your legs are shot and your shoes have rubbed all the skin off your toes..it’s no fun! Happy to finish in one piece in 3:24 & 2nd LV50! Post race pie & pint at the ODG was great until I sat down on the floor, got stung on the thigh by a wasp and immediately cramped up in both legs!!🤯🤯🫣🤣 A bloody awesome day though!!

Saturday morning saw another strong turnout at parkrun events, with members spread across several locations. At Haigh Woodland Parkrun, the highlight of the day was a special milestone as baby Orla made her parkrun debut, accompanied by mum Jo McManus (35:11), who perhaps underestimated the notorious hills of the Route B course. Chris Baker led ... Orla’s First Park Run – 5 April 2026
