Race report by Emma:
Ran Manchester Half Marathon this morning. It was my first time running this course, and I got a personal best of 02:05:39, beating my previous half marathon PB from March this year, which was 2:19:45.
The weather conditions were brilliant. It had forecast sun but the mist from early morning seemed to hang around most of the morning, keeping the temperature cool enough.
I was lucky to be allocated the Bronze wave, so I wasn’t hanging around waiting for too long before setting off at 09.30.
Over 28, 000 people were expected to attend, the course was very busy as a result.
The route was flat and started and finished near Old Trafford, heading through Stretford, Sale and Chorlton-cum-Hardy.
The spectators are absolutely amazing in Manchester and so encouraging! Ran the distance with a huge smile on my face feeling so uplifted!
Thanks to all at the club, I feel that I’ve improved a lot in the short time I’ve been running with you all!

Race report by Jo: Our 6th Parkrun Championships fixture took us to our very own Haigh Hall, where 28 Lostockers raced around thick mud that felt more like January than June. Haigh being Haigh, the route gave us its usual mix of hills, more hills, and that one section where you’re convinced the ground is ... Parkrun Championship Haigh Hall
Race report by Josie: On Saturday, I travelled to the beautiful village of Buttermere in the Western Lake District to run The Buttermere Sailbeck Fell Race. A tough 15km (9.3mi)/ 1,315m (4314ft) mountain horseshoe over two distinct ridgelines. Although a relatively short fell race (for me), a lot of elevation is packed into the distance ...
