Race report by Emma:
Heaton Park 10k (Garmin reckons it was 6.86 miles) this morning- chip time 01:04:28. Was 5th in age category out of 17.
Didn’t run this for a PB, used it as training run and managed to beat my course time from 2023, which was 01:06:41.
It was a busy day with a 5k (1 lap), 10k (2 laps) and a half marathon (4 laps) all on at staggered times.
Although it wasn’t raining for the majority of the course, the wind was out in full force. The hills seemed a lot harder in the wind
A small section of the original course was barricaded off so we did a slight out and back over a patch of grass.
Most of the route is on tarmac, with a small section taking us through the woods. Scenic past the lake.

Race report by Jo: Our 6th Parkrun Championships fixture took us to our very own Haigh Hall, where 28 Lostockers raced around thick mud that felt more like January than June. Haigh being Haigh, the route gave us its usual mix of hills, more hills, and that one section where you’re convinced the ground is ... Parkrun Championship Haigh Hall
Race report by Josie: On Saturday, I travelled to the beautiful village of Buttermere in the Western Lake District to run The Buttermere Sailbeck Fell Race. A tough 15km (9.3mi)/ 1,315m (4314ft) mountain horseshoe over two distinct ridgelines. Although a relatively short fell race (for me), a lot of elevation is packed into the distance ...
