Josie competed in the Saddleworth 10 Reservoirs race. The event organised by Craggrunner provides participants with the choice of visiting 5, 10 or 15 of the local reservoirs along a set, unmarked route. Josie opted to visit 10 and the course covered 27 miles of high moorlands and valleys around the Saddleworth area with an elevation gain of 4524ft.
Starting at the Saddleworth Rangers RLFC, runners traversed along a mixture of paved paths including the Pennine Way, tracks and open moorland passing several Checkpoints along the way. The terrain is challenging with bogs and tussocks followed by rocks and boulderfields to cross. Steep hills leading to the moorlands above were worthwhile for the beautiful views given that the day was blessed with sunshine and clear skies. Josie had a fantastic race finishing as 10th lady overall and first in her age category.

Race report by Jo: Our 6th Parkrun Championships fixture took us to our very own Haigh Hall, where 28 Lostockers raced around thick mud that felt more like January than June. Haigh being Haigh, the route gave us its usual mix of hills, more hills, and that one section where you’re convinced the ground is ... Parkrun Championship Haigh Hall
Race report by Josie: On Saturday, I travelled to the beautiful village of Buttermere in the Western Lake District to run The Buttermere Sailbeck Fell Race. A tough 15km (9.3mi)/ 1,315m (4314ft) mountain horseshoe over two distinct ridgelines. Although a relatively short fell race (for me), a lot of elevation is packed into the distance ...
