Despite a night of celebrations at the annual Awards celebration, this did not deter members from running across the weekend. 13 Lostockers headed to Smithills Sports Centre to compete in Burden Road Runner’s Trotter Trails Race. This is the third race in this seasons Central Lancashire Grand Prix series.
The race saw a new course for 2025, and participants were keen to see what the new course entailed. The race started on a steep hill up Smithills Dean Road, before turning rights to explore the tracks and trails of Smithills.
This is a tough undulating 5 mile race with an elevation gain of almost 650ft. Runners were rewarded with a fast finish down hill before crossing the finish line.
Janet had an amazing race, she was the first Lostocker to finish in an epic 40:25. She was 4th female and first in her age category. She was followed by Gaz (41:01), Greg (42:38), Andy (43:17), Chris (44:40), Jo (45:12), Rachel H (45:24), Sally who won her age category (46:18), Mary who won her age category (47:39), Mike (47:56), Tony (48:06), Rachel S (49:28) and Gill (58:37).
