Race report by Sheila:
Six Lostockers took part in this year’s Yarrow River Splash on Sunday – a very popular multi- terrain trail race with over 250 runners. It starts following the River Yarrow, running up and down through the woods trying to avoid tree roots and not slip on steps and very narrow paths. Then it heads towards Charnock Richard, running across fields, a shortish uphill road section and around lakes before returning to the woods along the river. The final section involves running through the river not once but twice!
It wasn’t an easy run but felt like a real achievement at the finish.
Finish (chip) times –
Matt Withers 1.04.04
Tony Maxwell 1.08.04 (1st M65)
Lee Burns 1.09.01
Sheila Garewal 1.15.32 (1st F70)
Ian Burns 1.17.31
Jo Withers 1.26.00
