Lostock AC members Rachel and Ste joined 1313 other runners taking part in the Stockport Daffodil 10k.
This is the 4th year the race has taken place. The race starts at Richmond Rovers Junior Football Club on Jacksons Lane, turning onto Chester Road/Woodford Road. It then joins the path at the side of the A555 (Airport Link Road), before joining the carriageway towards Fiveways. Then turnaround back towards the oil terminal roundabout. Another turnaround at the bridlepath, up the cycle path back onto Woodford Road with a finish on Chester Road.
Rachel had an amazing run completing the race in 51:02. Ste followed in 1:08:01.
Checkers competed in the Strange Struggle Fell Race, organised by Fat Boys Running club. This is a fun and friendly 9.9km fell race on a beautiful route, in Hathersage, west of Sheffield. Fell Captain Josie had a busy weekend of racing. On Saturday she completed the Three Shires Fell Race. This is a tough race, starting in Ambleside, covering 20k (12.4 miles) and 4000ft elevation gain. Greenhalgh completed the gruelling race in 3:44:18.
