Rachel H headed to Southport to compete in the Maddog. The race organisers pick a theme for the race every year, in the past there has been Barbie, Star Wars, Back to the Future, to name just a few. This year was aDeadpool/Wolverine themed run (Dogpool/Wooferine).
This was a new course from previous years, starting at Victoria park, then head out to Southport Municipal Golf Course. Participants then head back along Marine Drive to the finish line. This is a fast and flat course, and runners were eager to secure a PB.
Rachel joined in the start line and her outfit did not disappoint. Fancy dress is encouraged, and Hancock had adorned herself in a Deadpool/Wolverine catsuit. It was a cold start to the race, but Rachel soon warmed up and there was no head wind down the promenade which made it a good race.
Rachel had an amazing time at the event and secured an excellent time of 50:48. The finisher medal and goody bag are always excellent for this event.
