Sunday saw the final race in the Central Lancs Grand Prix, the Last Drop 5k race. The race starts at the Last Drop village, starting up a steep tarmac hill before joining the trails around Turton Golf course.
The race then has a steep descent down Charlestown Road before completing a loop at the bottom passing Turton Tower.
Sadly, the steep descent then becomes a steep climb back towards the village. Looping back along the golf club with a very muddy finish and fast sprint through a field to the finish line. This is a short but though race with an elevation gain of 450ft.
Janet Rhodes was the first Lostocker to finish in an awesome 24:31, she was 4th female and first in age category. She was shortly followed by Greg Kilshaw (25:04), Chris Baker (26:35), Hazel Hatfield (26:56) and Rachel Hancock (27:07). Luke Baker slipped in the mud but was still able to finish strong in 29:13.
There were impressive results from other members including Heather Soden (29:22), Jo McManus (29:37), Rachel Stevens (31:22), Sheila Garewal finished in 34:23 and secured first in age category, Gill Caldwell (34:27) and Gill Baker completed her first official race for Lostock in 34:44.

Race report by Jo: When I signed up for this race back in September, I definitely wasn’t expecting to be running in tropical heat in Edinburgh. The day kicked off early with a 5:45am park‑and‑ride bus into the city. The race started at 8am on Potterrow outside the University of Edinburgh’s McEwan Hall. After the ... Edinburgh 1/2 marathon
