Central Lancashire New Years Half Marathon

Jo McManus headed to Preston to take part in the rearranged Central Lancashire New Year Half Marathon. This is a lovely half organised by Fylde Coast Runners, taking in scenery around Inskip and Catford. McManus had a fantastic race, finishing as 12th female in 1:47:16 and winning her age category.

Cross Country 4/4

Cross country report by Andy.  2 Lostock ladies and 4 men braved a chilly Saturday afternoon to attend the final cross country of the season. The ladies went first  completing a 3 lap 4.8 mile course, very nearly the same as the mens. ( don’t know why we don’t run together) Rachel  was first in at Cross Country 4/4

There was a fantastic turn out of Lostock AC members at Parkrun on 28 December 2024.   At Bolton Parkrun, members joined 279 runners. TonyMaxwell was first in 26:37 (3rd in age category), followed by Sheila Garewal 30:30 (2nd in age category and 150th Parkrun),Gillian Caldwell 35:23 (1st in age category) and Stephen Davies 40:00. Joining Lostock AC has been one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I decided to give it a try mainly to loose weight and meet new people. It's really helped with my weight, mental health and output on life. I've been in the club over a year now. Everyone makes you feel so welcome and I love being part of the Lostock family. My running has definitely improved, especially seeing all the medals I've won. It is not just running, Lostock offers other activities too such as cycling, bootcamp and skiing. All I've had a go at which has just been brilliant. Lostock is my second family . I have entered the Machester marathon next year and an ultra. All this for someone who couldn't run . Everyone has made me feel very welcome in the club, I now consider myself to be a runner and would recommend anyone to give Lostock a try.

I joined Lostock AC to help improve my running and to motivate me to run more often. The club has surpassed my expectations. I am not from Bolton originally and did not have many friends in the area. I now feel part of an extended family. I have been encouraged and supported to run half marathons, marathons and an Ultra. I would never believe this was possible 3 years ago.
