Janet Rhodes, Sally McCoy, Beverly Atherton-McKenna, Heather Soden and Greg Kilshaw travelled to Cartmel in the Lakedistrict to complete an 18k Trail Challenge.
Starting and finishing at Cartmel Racecourse, the challenge travels along footpaths and bridal ways, giving panoramic views of Morecambe Bay and the surrounding parks. This was a tough run due to the weather leading up to the event, participants had to dodge puddles and navigate deep mud.
All members ran together, crossing the finish line, hand in hand, in an epic time of 2:07. Not only were participants rewarded with a fabulous finishing t-shirt but they received a famous Cartmel sticky toffee pudding.
Checkers competed in the Strange Struggle Fell Race, organised by Fat Boys Running club. This is a fun and friendly 9.9km fell race on a beautiful route, in Hathersage, west of Sheffield. Fell Captain Josie had a busy weekend of racing. On Saturday she completed the Three Shires Fell Race.
