I took a little trip to the seaside today for the Blackpool Summer 10k. The start line was on the Comedy Carpet under the Tower, and the route heads down to the Pleasure Beach and back. Two laps, totally flat, and absolutely baking.
Despite the heat, it turned into a good one: 36th, 5th female, 1st V40, and 45:08, which is my quickest 10k in more than three years. Very happy with that.
Lovely race, great support, and a proper summer’s day on the Fylde coast.
Race report by Jon: Had a fantastic weekend of bikejor racing at Thetford Forest at the 4 Paw Challenge. The format was 4 races over 3 days – Friday night (3.6k), Saturday morning (same 3.6k), Saturday night (2.2k) and Sunday morning (the 3.6k in reverse). The October instalment of the Lostock AC Parkrun Championships took place at Worsley Woods Parkrun, with an impressive 22 Lostockers turning out for the 5k event. Set amongst the picturesque woodland and trails of Worsley, the course provides a mixture of paths, woodland sections and undulating terrain, making it a popular challenge for local runners. ...
