It was an international outing for two Lostockers as Gill and Chris headed to Denmark to take part in the World Athletics Road Running Championship taking place in Copenhagen.
Gill took on the 5k race on the Saturday afternoon, enjoying the atmosphere and excitement of race day as she represented Lostock on the streets of the Danish capital. Gill did an excellent time of 31:01, especially after not missing out on the opportunity to complete a parkrun in Denmark that morning.
On Sunday morning, it was Chris’s turn to take on the 13.1 miles of the Half Marathon. With a fantastic atmosphere, enthusiastic crowds and a scenic route through Copenhagen, it was a memorable challenge and a great experience. Chris completed the course in 1hr 52:32, amongst a competitive field, he even crossed the line alongside a GB Gold Olympic medalist, making it a memorable race to celebrate his 50th Birthday!
