The Cheshire Half Marathon, described as the North West’s answer to the Great North Run, took place at the beautiful Capesthorne Hall near Macclesfield. The event is renowned for its fast course and is a popular choice for runners chasing a personal best. The scenic one-lap route follows closed rural roads around Siddington and Lower Withington, with stunning countryside views and Jodrell Bank visible from the start line.
Heather and Rachel S were not chasing PBs on this occasion, instead choosing to use the race as a training run. The pair ran together for the opening section before Heather powered on to finish in 2:13:46, followed by Rachel in 2:25:25.
Heather was also running for a very worthy cause, National Energy Action raising in excess of £500 through her participation. A fantastic achievement alongside a strong half marathon performance.
